Ufone is one of the four chief cellular and digital services providers in Pakistan currently serving over 22 million Pakistanis with basic telecom and advanced 3G and 4G services. The company is most renowned for its affordable and high-value prepaid offerings, especially the Super Card family. Headquartered in Islamabad, Ufone became the third entrant to Pakistan’s emerging telecom scene launching its services in 2001.
Officially known as Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), Ufone is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL). After PTCL’s privatization in 2006, Ufone became a part of Etisalat. The mobile operator has a numerous prepaid, postpaid, internet, and VAS product and service offerings under its belt. Ufone also offers its own mobile banking solution called UPaisa.
